Early-Fall Tops from Iron Heart
Two brand new long sleeve layering pieces from Iron Heart to continue kicking off Fall 2021 the right way.
We were super pumped when it came to a woollen shirt from Iron Heart. They have been crushing it for us in terms of cotton shirting for a little over a year now, and we knew they would knock this piece out of the park. The general standard of quality is of course on par with all of their other work shirts. It's sturdy, extremely well constructed and comes with a bit of a twist this round being that it's made of wool. The vertical lines of and black buttons cap this beauty off that reads more royal in the sun than navy. They don't make a shirt like this often, so we suspect this will be one of those that goes quick and you might not see again.
Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy stuck with his true Iron Heart size of a medium in this piece. For a close-to-body fit, if you can handle wool you should be fine in your true size. The only problem is that if you throw this in the wash, it's going to shrink one size. We would recommend that everyone size up one if you have a wool sensitivity as to wear it as an overshirt, and if you're worried about shrinkage. If you plan on dry cleaning, you could stick with your normal size. Tommy is 5'10," 170lbs with a 40" chest.
We've had incredible luck with Iron Heart's thermal gear. It is, per their standards, some of the highest quality thermal in the game. They also give you nice little details like the runoffs on the sleeves and their signature tag work on the base near the hem. This one is pretty straightforward, but something we find ourselves wanting in the wardrobe as the cooler months settle in.
Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy stuck with his true Iron Heart size of a medium for the pictures on this one. He would definitely choose to size up one to the large if he purchased it. It's a bit tighter in the body than he likes. If you're going for a tight-to-body layer, you may want to stick with your true size.
