Wool Lined Type-I Jacket in Rinsed Indigo

TCB has worked so hard on this jacket, which made us want to support it even more. They've custom-developed this blanket liner, or should we say two different blanket liners, to repro this Type I as close as possible. The two front panels are a lighter, almost faded-looking version of the sleeves and back panels. We saw them wearing these beauties inside out, and it sunk its claws in.

In this version of the blanket lined jacket, they decided to go with a type I that they realized was originally produced just before they changed to the Type I in 52. The two-tone wool liner is most likely a "batch-to-batch" detail which makes it an extremely rare find. It truly blows us away that TCB would go to these lengths of production to reproduce such an incredible detail. To create two different batches of striped wool is dedication.

For the front body, the stripe pitch is wider and the color is lighter. On the other hand the back body stripe is narrower and the color is deeper. The yarn count of the warp is as follows: 20/ single thread and of the weft is 10/ triple thread.

They decided to use our 30's fabric for this jacket. It's the closest to the repro, and they wanted to give customers an opportunity to buy what they consider one of the top denims they've ever made. The 30's denim is made of Memphis cotton and the yarn count for both the warp and weft is 8, making the fabric 12.5oz in weight. The single sleeve detail was by no means easier or more cost-effective and confounds TCB about the original. In true TCB spirit, they reproduced it anyway.

We know there are a ton of details, but the hardware can not be missed. This slide buckle has been made of steel, plated with copper, then oxidized to get the black color. Then, they rub them with sawdust to get the matte look. It's freaking wild to be honest. This plating is built to rub off and get rusted in a red/black manner.

This piece was a pre-order, and we think very few if any other retailers ordered it. We may be the only people on the planet who got access to this incredible, incredible jacket. They are limited and therefore, once they're gone...they're gone forever.

Cathartt Chore Coat in Indigo

This time, TCB referred to a vintage Carhartt jacket from the 20s. It was a dream jacket for them, and they used details from their own jackets mixed with everything they know about the ones from an earlier time frame. This piece is developed from a super rare Master Cloth chore coat that had the heart-shaped tag only available until the 20s. They've used a relatively low tension weave for this piece with a 7 to 1 warp to weft count. This will lead to wild, raindrop fades! In terms of fading, this is dyed with 100% indigo dyes. According to TCB, at some point in history, they started diluting the indigo which gave garments a green tint as they faded. That will not be the case with this piece. This indigo has more blue than black tint to it for a light, royal color that is reminiscent of its origins (this is because they dyed the cotton fewer times in indigo baths to save cost).

Slim 50’s Jeans in Indigo One Wash

You may be asking yourself why Two Cat's Brand (TCB) is so special. Well, beyond all the obvious details, there's a story. This is a brand that truly does what they love. Most things have a rhyme and reason, but sometimes they just create what suits their needs. The vintage, reproduction inspiration behind the brand is clearly visible. They're honoring styles from the '30s-'60s with a few items dating pre-1900's. Sometimes they create fantasy or future (e.g. present) cuts that didn't exist in the past, but the bulk of their work is true reproduction. That's what we went with on this round. You may also be asking, why such a low price compared to other Japanese brands. This is due to the fact that everything besides the milling of the fabric is done in-house. There is no outsourcing for cutting or sewing. In Kojima, the denim capital of Japan sits their vertically integrated factory where they do: fabric cutting, single stitch sewing, lapping seam sewing, applying buttons and rivets, and much, much more. We are so excited to introduce you to TCB.

For this pair of jeans, TCB referred to the vintage piece from the late 50's. This round is the 50's pants you know and love, but they've given it a futuristic slim fit. The same beautiful Zimbabwe cotton and details accompany this pair. They're super hairy with that leather patch and pale pink selvedge ID. These bad boys are also pre-rinsed so you don't have to worry about shrinkage. Always wanted a pair of TCB's but simply couldn't get with the fit? Well...these are that modern fit so many of you have been waiting for.

Cat Light Shirt in Black Chambray

TCB named this a cat light shirt - cat light as in the cat's eyes lighting the way ahead even in the darkness. This comes as inspiration again from a shirt that used a locomotive with lights on for its tags. They've put that kind of jokey image on the woven tag for this shirt, which we hope you like, too. The cat light has become one of our best-selling shirts from its runoffs to its colorful bartacks. This black chambray version is a beautiful addition to the lineup.

  • 5.2oz Chambray Cotton

  • triple-stitched chain stitching

  • the asymmetry pockets' shapes

  • a chin-strap

  • triangle-shaped hem gusset on the side

  • thread runoff

  • Made in Kojima, Japan

Foreman’s Vest in Rinsed Indigo

These vests are based on a vintage engineer jacket that they've altered to make into a vest. They've redone the cut as the brand has grown to one that we think suits all sorts of outfits. This could be worn as super vintage or very contemporary. We love it over just a tee shirt. The bar tacks and brass snaps make this piece so beautiful. The utilitarian nature of the pockets is also a huge bonus for us. The bright blue 3x1 denim is a light weight 10oz, but is sturdy as any work vest out there. It also fades like a champ, as it's the same denim as their classic Tabby's coat (known for aging incredibly well.

The back dress length is shorter than the front by approx 10cm so that the back silhouette can fully show your jeans back pockets. These are recommended for those who want to boast about the wonky back pocket stitches on S40's model.

  • 10oz rope dyed indigo denim

  • Brass laurel wreath donut buttons

  • Hillbilly Cat custom woven label

  • Red Bar Tacks

  • Snap right pocket

  • Pen left pocket

  • Triple-needle seam stitches

  • Hand patch pockets
